About the Artist

Emily Jean

I'm from the small town of Shawnee, Oklahoma and this is where my passion for art became a reality.  I grew up around a lot of animals and nature, which is what inspired me to start drawing.  I started to find comfort in studying abstract southwestern and Native American art.  I began using these pieces as inspiration for my originals.

I am a self-taught artist with the only instruction I received coming from my high school AP art class, and some college art courses - which taught me various techniques to help round out my skills. I began painting commission art in 2010. I then created art using many different mediums, trying to find my true niche.  My calling came to me in the form of a blank cow skull.  I was immediately inspired to portray my ideas onto this unique canvas.
